Ron Tyler has lost track of how many generations his family has called this place home, but records show his family’s roots in Lauderdale County stretch back to 1824. That’s when his grandfather’s namesake, Hiram Kennedy, moved his family here to help build the Kennedy Long Rifle factory in Greenhill. For nearly 200 years, this has been more than a place to live—it’s been home. It’s where Ron and his wife Cassie have chosen to raise their children, and it’s the community they hope their boys will continue to live, learn, work, and thrive in with their own families one day.

Ron and Cassie married in 1992, and together they’ve been blessed with four incredible boys and a wonderful daughter-in-law. Their two oldest are biological blessings, and in 2018 and 2020, the Lord expanded their family through the foster and adoption process. Family has always been at the heart of everything the Tylers do.

Ron has dedicated nearly 30 years to serving this community with the Florence Police Department, including the last 12 years as Chief of Police. Cassie has spent 28 years as a Special Education teacher, pouring into the next generation with passion and care. Both earned their Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of North Alabama, and they’ve always believed in investing in the people and places they love most.
